Edgartown Fire Department is a volunteer department on the island of Martha’s Vineyard. The department consists of the Fire Chief, Deputy Chief/Ambulance Coordinator, Assistant Chief, Department Assistant, Board of Fire Engineers, an Ambulance Advisory Committee, 50 Volunteer Firefighters, five full time EMS personnel (three paramedics and two intermediates) and approximately 18 Volunteer EMTs.

All of these employees and volunteers work and practice diligently to protect and serve our town and island.  Our firefighters respond to house fires, car accidents, brush fires, fire alarms, CO2 and gas alarms and much more. We have developed an EMS squad that, with the teamwork of the full time personnel and volunteers, provides the town 24/7 with emergency medical response coverage.

We have two stations, one in downtown Edgartown on Pease’s Point Way, and a second, smaller station, on the island of Chappaquiddick.
