Hospitality Homes is a nonprofit organization that provides short-term housing in volunteer host homes for families and friends of patients receiving medical care in the Boston area. Our services are free of charge and are made possible by the generosity of our volunteer hosts and supporters.

Founded in 1983, Hospitality Homes was the first program of its kind in the nation. Since then we have served more than 15,300 families. The need for convenient, caring, and cost-free accommodations for patients’ family members increases every year.

As a Hospitality Homes guest, you will be carefully matched with a trained host who will provide you with a clean and comfortable place to sleep and access to a bathroom. Hospitality Homes hosts do not provide meals or transportation. Most live in areas with access to public transportation (subway or buses).

WHO IS ELIGIBLE TO BE A GUEST?

Has a permanent home to return to after his/her stay.

Please note: Hospitality Homes requires all patients staying in a host home to be accompanied by another guest. Hospitality Homes allows a maximum of 4 guests per night in a volunteer host home.
