Island Grown Gleaning works with farmers to reduce crop waste and give their “seconds” a second chance! We donate gleaned produce to organizations serving low-income, hungry, and marginalized community members. We facilitate food system education by delivering produce to school cafeterias and hosting gleaning field trips for students.

Since 2009, our volunteers harvested more than 125,000 pounds of produce. We deliver, free of charge, to 20 different organizations: senior centers, school cafeterias, low-income housing residents, and programs providing meals and groceries to those in need.

We are program of the Island Grown Initiative, a non-profit on the island of Martha’s Vineyard, MA. For more information or to become involved in any of our projects, please contact us at jamie@igimv.org.
